Our Name, Our Legacy
In the late 1980s, when our founder Dr. Shun-I Chu laid the foundation for what would become a global leader in networking solutions, he faced a critical decision: what to name the company. At that time, many tech companies in Taiwan chose names starting with the letter "A," hoping it would place them at the top of alphabetical lists and directories—a strategic move in the pre-digital era.
Breaking from Tradition with "Zyx"
However, Dr. Chu wasn’t interested in following the trend. He made a bold and unconventional choice by starting with "Zyx"—a combination of letters from the end of the alphabet. This decision symbolized Zyxel’s commitment to approaching challenges differently and leading with innovation, even if it meant breaking from convention.
