- Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL) system, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Perform account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist in financial audits and internal control reviews, providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper recording of transactions and expenses.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, VAT/GST, sales tax, and other applicable taxes) within deadlines.
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of taxes owed by the company.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with tax requirements.
- Assist in tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Prepare tax provisions and reports for financial statements and tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for more complex tax matters and ensure accurate reporting.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights on financial performance.
- Prepare management reports, highlighting key financial metrics and tax obligations.
Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Maintain updated knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and best practices in the industry.
- Participate in the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
