Key Responsibilities: •Identify and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors for food, beverages, and restaurant supplies. •Negotiate contracts and establish favorable terms and pricing agreements. •Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries. •Monitor inventory levels regularly and optimize stock levels to avoid overstocking or shortages. •Implement inventory management systems to track usage, order frequency, and replenishment needs. •Work with suppliers to negotiate competitive prices and discounts without compromising quality. •Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. •Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve the restaurant's bottom line. •Ensure that all products purchased meet the restaurant's quality and safety standards. •Conduct inspections and audits of suppliers to assess their adherence to quality requirements. •Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently, considering lead times and production schedules. •Oversee the receiving process, verifying the quality and quantity of received goods. •Promote sustainable and environmentally friendly purchasing practices. •Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and product labeling. •Collaborate with the culinary team and chefs to identify specific ingredient requirements and seasonal menu changes. •Coordinate with the finance department to track and reconcile invoices and payments. •Assist in budgeting and forecasting inventory needs and costs for the restaurant. •Analyze spending patterns and provide recommendations to optimize budget utilization. •Train and develop purchasing and receiving staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. •Foster a positive and productive work environment within the purchasing department.
