Job Descriptions
As a Commis Chef, you are responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest experience. A Commis Chef will also be required to prepare all mis-en-place and contribute to departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: • Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines • Perform tasks within a timely manner • Contribute to Kitchen revenue through effective food cost control • Provide support to the Kitchen brigade • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination • Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships • Awareness departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team • Meet all health and hygiene requirements
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 1 year of work experience as Commis in international hotels or F&B establishments are preferred.
  2. Knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food
  3. Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures
  4. Passion for teamwork
  5. Excellent guest service skills
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality as well as possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
